29/07/2003: European Youth Olympics
You can get live results from the swimming competition at the European Youth Olympics at the official site of the French Swimming Federation: Natation : Festival Olympique de la Jeunesse Européenne - Paris 2003
Britain's team of 16 swimmers are part of the multi-sport Great Britain team that will travel to Paris to compete in the biannual event, which encompasses ten sports and is open to 13 and 14 year old girls and 15 and 16 year old boys.
In the past the event has proven to be an excellent starting point for future champions, with Dutch 100m freestyle world record holder Pieter van den Hoogenband counted amongst previous competitors, while eight members of Britain's 2001 team have since graduated to the squad that will compete in this summer’s European Junior Championships in Glasgow.
The swimming competition gets underway on 28th July at the Georges Vallerey pool, which earlier this year hosted the Paris round of the FINA World Cup, and runs until the 1st August.
