bodysuits
There has been much controversy about the new bodysuits being worn by many swimmers, particularly in the Australian Olympic team. Some of the team have threatened to lodge complaints against their bodysuited colleagues if they are beaten at the Olympics, despite the fact that FINA have ratified the suits. foreign National Performance Director
Following the recent furore over the appointment of a Swedish coach for the England football team, the fact that British swimming has had foreign national coaches for many years stands in stark contrast. The Australian Bill Sweetenham has just been appointed as the National Performance Director, but should the new holder of that post have been British?
What do you think, should we have a foreign National Performance Director?

one start or two?
There has been much discussion over the number of false starts allowed in a particular race. In Britain there is a general preference for the two start rule, but often a one start rule is used as per the FINA rules. There are many of the opinion that this is unfair, particularly on younger swimmers. you can get more info here.
What do you think? How many starts should we have?

Were the qualifying times too tough?
The first part of Britain's team for the forthcoming World championships has been chosen, with many more swimmers aiming to book their place at the North Eastern Counties Championships next week. The team so far contains 21 swimmers, although many of them have been selected solely for relays. Indeed many of the individual winners of events at the trials are yet to be selected as they did not make the qualifying times set down by National performance director Bill Sweetenham. But were these times too tough? Many of them were faster than the British records - see our comparison table. But was this unfair or a reasonable way of improving our medal prospects at the worlds?

Are kit deals a good idea?
The ASA recently announced a new kit deal with Diana which runs until after the next Olympics. Is this a good idea, or will we end up with our top swimmers swimming in unbranded fastskin suits, as happened in Sydney where the team kit was supplied by adidas. Should swimmers be allowed to swim in whatever suit they want?

In or out?
Controversy reigned at the world championships over the result of the women's 4x200m relay, eventually won by Britain after the disqualification of the US and Australian team. The US have claimed that the timing equipment in their lane was faulty and they should be awarded gold. What do you think should the US have been disqualified?

experience or youngsters?
The British team has recently been selected for the European Short Course Championships to be held in Antwerp in December. The policy for this meet was one aimed at giving younger swimmers the chance of international competition by setting reduced qualifying standards, perhaps at the risk of a reduced medal tally. Was this right, or should we have been looking to send our strongest team?
Both James Parrack and Nick Gillingham agreed with the policy, here's how you voted, was the selection policy correct?:

Commonwealth games swimming tickets
The first phase of tickets for the Commonwealth games swimming events have now been allocated, with the second slice now available. Tickets for the finals sessions were on sale for £60 - £90. These have now all sold out, but were they too expensive and therefore price lots of potential spectators out of the games?

What do you think of the manchester aquatics centre?
Since it opened many people have been critical of the Manchester Aquatics Centre as a competition venue, seeing it as a missed opportunity to provide Britain with a 10 lane state of the art 50m pool. Instead it is often described as a cramped venue, too small for top class competition. Most recently the Australian NPD, launched a barrage of criticism at the facility, but what did you think? What was interesting was that before the games, there were significantly more no votes, but the votes shofted as teh games were a great success to give the final result. Here's how you voted - is the MAnchester Aquatics centre up to world class competition?
