Liam Tancock – 50m Backstroke – 24.47 – 2/4/2008
Competing at the British Olympic Trials in Sheffield, Liam Tancock set a 50m backstroke world record on the opening length of the 200m backstroke heats, held in the evening as a consequence of morning finals in Beijing. Tancock posted 24.47, before easing his way through the remaining 150m.
