world championship team predictions - how did we do? Part 2The final team has now been announced and is shown below, along with our predictions. So how did we do? Well we predicted 23 of the 41 swims correctly but also tipped 35 others who didn't make it, and missed many others who did. So all in all not very well!. pullbuoy's opinion: What do we thin about the team? Well it is obvious from the tough selection policy laid down by Bill Sweetenham that no on is going to Japan for the ride. All the team members have proven their ability and current form. We must hope that they are able to reproduce that form at the right time, and that the stresses of qualifying so close to the championships do not unduly harm our prospects. On the whole the team looks well balanced, but we would question the decision not to enter Mark Foster in the 50m Free. Had he not qualified for the fly we could have seen some logic in the action, but given his recent performances and the time done in a time trial at the North Eastern counties we feel he should have been given a chance. However against that Sweetenham should be applauded for sticking by his guns and his selection policy. Only time will tell whether the decision was the correct one. Have your say in the pullbuoy vote or using the form below. |
Please note this is only what we think might be the team; Only the names in blue and red are confirmed in the British Team. The full announcement is here. We will be equally pleased to be proved right or wrong about our prediction! If you have a comment to make e-mail it to us |
