While she will be in London, it’s far from certain she will compete raising possible questions over the selection of freestyle relay quartets.
After announcing their rebrand from British Swimming to Aquatics GB there was another piece of news that snuck out at the same time as preparations continue for this year’s Olympic trials at the London Aquatic Centre, as Tom Dean revealed on his podcast that the competition would stay there for the next 5 years.
It’s the second most important meet of the year for Britain’s Olympic hopefuls as they seek to secure their places at the year’s big event at the British Championships in London. The lates podcast previews a make or break meet which promises some scintillating racing with ecstasy and despair in equal measure.
On the eve of the British Swimming Championships, the governing body has revealed that it is changing its name and from now on will be known as Aquatics GB.
It wasn’t entirely clear that it would happen, given how close it is to the Olympics, but Britain has confirmed it will send a small team to this year’s European Championships this summer. That squad of up to 10 will comprise swimmers on a trajectory towards the 2028 Olympic Games.
