Britain again showed off its impressive junior swimming contingent at the European Youth Olympic Festival as the squad of 14 and 15 year olds bagged 5 medals on the first night of competition. The girls’ team was in the forefront in Ligano, Italy, taking 4 of the five medals including three gold.

london unveils olympic aquatic centre
The organising committee for London's 2012 Olympics bid yesterday unveiled the winning design for the proposed aquatic centre. The facility, located within the site earmarked for the main Olympic precinct, will feature 2 50m pools and competition diving pit with seating for 20,000 spectators.
