It looks certain that Natalie Coughlin (USA) will break the long course 100 backstroke world record of 1:00.16, the question is not 'if' but 'when'. She swam 1:00.19, the third fastest time ever - she already has the second fastest time to her credit - at the Santa Clara International meet.
