Three of England’s gold medal winners from Manchester will be in Melbourne attempting to retain the titles they won in 2002. Only two of them will be sporting the red rose however as the third, Zoe Baker, returns under the silver fern. The former British swimmer is aiming to add a second Commonwealth gold medal to her collection but this time for her adopted New Zealand.

sweetenham faces bullying probe
British Swimming has launched an independent enquiry into allegations of bullying levelled at national performance director Bill Sweetenham.
The move follows an article in The Times newspaper written by former international table tennis player Matthew Syed that alleged Sweetenham's methods had contributed to the retirement of 13 Olympic athletes.

Olympic swimmers will come under the spotlight once again after competeing a photo shoot for a calendar to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Campaign. Members of the Athens 2004 squad were the subjects of a two-day photo shoot in Loughborough ahead of the launbch of the finished prodcut on 16th October.
