After the fireworks in night 3 in London, the fourth night of competition always had the possibility of being a little anti-climactic, but while the record books remained untouched, there were plenty of swims that demanded selection as we move to the business end of the meet.

A stunning brace of British Records from Angharad Evans and Freya Colbert were the standout attractions in London on the third night of competition. Both produced outstanding swims that moved them into the top 10 all time global performers in their events. Unsurprisingly that put the duo on the team for European Championships but there was a lot of selection action beyond them.

It was a day characterised by dominant wins in London, as Amalie Blocksidge, Max Litchfield and Amalie Smith blew away their respective competition to book their places in this summer’s major meets. There was greater drama elsewhere as plenty of swimmers out their hands up for team selections.

The 2026 Aquatics GB Swimming Championships kicked off with a bang in London, as swimmers sought places on teams for this summer’s major competitions and James Guy pulled out a memorable 400 freestyle performance that took us back a decade.
