Fireworks in teh men’s 50 breat semi’s – James gibosn set a new British Commonwealth and Eurpoean record to qualify fastest. Darren Mew was also inside the old British and Commonwealth record in a close second place. Gibson expects more in the final.

There appears to be no stopping Sarah Price as far as British backstroke goes – she again headed the qualifers for the final by a comfortable margin. 100 Freestyle winner Melanie Marshall continued her good form in second but don’t discount Katy Sexton and Zoe Cray come the final.
