More controversy over Canadian Games team

Following the recent reselection of the Canadian Commonwealth games swimming team, following an appeal against inconsitencies in teh selection policy, a second appeal against the original decision has resulted in further chanegs to the originally selected line up

Nadine Rolland successfully appealed to the ADR (Athlete Dispute Resolution) for not being selected to the Commonwealth Team in March. The arbitrator Michel G. Piche ruled that she should be added to the team (Rolland won the 50 butterfly in March).

The decision was made last week and could result in another swimmer being dropped from the 40 member team.

In a second ruling by the ADR, the addition of three swimmers who finished second at the Trials has also been overturned. The original selection as announced in March will stand.

This means that Kurtis MacGillivary, Chad Murray and Karley Sutzel will not be on the team. This reverses the SNC (Swimming Natation Canada) Appeal Panel’s recommendation from a month ago.
