As expected Sarah Price continue dher dominace of British backstroke, taking the 2002 title with comparative ease, almost 1 whole second ahead of second placed Jo Fargus. Fargus and Katy Sexton were both outside the qualifying time and so will have to wait for news of their selection. Stephanie Proud continued her impressive progress with a solid 4th place.
