brits prepare for opening day

Britain’s swimmers are making final preparations ahead of the start of competition at the European Championships in Budapest this week. Reports coming out of the team indicate that Bill Sweetenham has been upbeat, the last few days of training having proceeded to plan and with no apparent mishaps.
Earliy signs are that David Carry, Francesca Halsall and Terri Dunning have all pulled out of the 200 IM in order to focus on other swims, while there will be a considerable number of British time trials going on during the meet, especially for the 100 and 200 freestyle where swimmers will be looking to post qualifying times for next year’s World Championships.
