Fran Halsall claimed her second gold medal of the European Junior Championships as she anchored home the girls relay team of Natalie Durant, Chloe Ross and Lauren Collins to the top of the podium.
After solid swims from the opening three girls, individual champion Halsall went into the water in 4th spot, 1.43s behind the leaders Sweden but was not to be denied as she took water of all of the other teams and hit the front with 20m to go.”I was not going to let anyone beat me!” said Halsall afterwards.
There were no other medals on the third night with Ceri Unwin placed 7th in the 400m Freestyle with a time of 4:23.52 and in the women’s 50 backstroke Halsall finished 4th in 29.96 with Lizzie Simmonds in 7th in 30.50.
Meanwhile five swimmers moved through the semi finals to contest for medals on the closing night.
