Ian Greyson, new head coach at the City of Leeds club has confirmed that James Hickman will be concentrating on the 100m fly in the run up to the Athens Olympics.
“James has already made a name for himself,” says Greyson. “But he’s now concentrating on the 100 fly rather than the 200 fly which means a change in his diet, his weight-training and much more sprint training rather than the endurance-type butterfly for the 200.
“James has set his sights on the Olympics – he’s always wanted to win an Olympic medal. He set himself that goal and he knows what he wants out of his swimming career.”
