On the final day of competition of the Swedish Nationals at the southern coastal Swedish city of Landskrona, Igelstrom destroyed the Swedish and European record in the 100m breaststroke with a brilliant 1:07.27.

The time is the fastest in the world this year, vaulting her past Australia’s Leisel Jones, the Olympic and World Championship silver medalist, who had led at 1:07.31. It also puts her in a tie with Japan’s Masami Tanaka as the fourth fastest woman in this event in history.
