It wasn’t the World Championships the British team was hoping for, or indeed the one we all expected with a haul of only 2 medals in Singapore. There is a lot of context to be applied, with illness a significant factor for a number of teams, but there were plenty of high points for Steve Bob and Katie to look back on, including another world title for the men’s 4×200 freestyle and a superb British Record from Freya Colbert.
It was 2010 when Great Britain last had a man ranked in the top three in the world in the 100m backstroke in the shape of Liam Tancock. Not that the next man to achieve that feat would have known, because Ollie Morgan wasn’t watching. Now he’s heading to a second world championships with the podium in mind.

World Aquatics today loaded individual event entries on to the World Championships site and gave us a first look at what the British team will be swimming in Singapore.
Following the conclusion of the Aquatics GB Championships last weekend, Aquatics GB have now confirmed a team of 28 who will compete at the World Championships in Singapore in the summer, with six discretionary picks added to the 22 who were selected directly.
